Tomasz Młynarczyk, 2024

Tomasz Młynarczyk (born in 1971 in Radzyń Podlaski) - a Polish artist photographer[1]. He is the founder of the Radzyń Photography Club KLATKA (Polish: Radzyński Klub Fotograficzny KLATKA), the member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers (Polish: Związek Polskich Artystów Fotografików - ZPAF) of the Lublin district.

Tomasz Młynarczyk is not only a photopgrapher, but he is also an organiser and co-organiser of cultural events in the area. He works at the Radzyń Cultural Center (Polish: Radzyński Ośrodek Kultury) as a culture instructor. He deals with the popularisation of culture and art.

Life

In 2002, he founded the Radzyń Photography Club Klatka.

In 2004, he received the Photographer Of The Year 2003 award from the Polish Nature Photographers’ Union.

In 2011, he was one of the founders and members of the Motycz Creative Group.

In March 2016, he was accepted to the Association of Polish Art Photographers as the first member coming from Radzyń Podlaski.

In 2017, he started his work at the Radzyń Cultural Center as a culture instructor.

In 2024, he became the-author and coordinator of the Eastern Photography Festival (Polish: Wschodni Festiwal Fotografii).

Tomasz Młynarczyk is considered to be the first artist photographer in the history of Radzyń Podlaski.

He took up photography professionally in 1999.

In 2019, as the summary of twenty years of his creative work, the Polish Post memorialised the anniversary with limited-edition stamp collection with his photographs depicting Radzyń Podlaski, Lublin and Kazimierz Dolny[2].

The Radzyń Photography Club KLATKA

In 2002, he founded the Radzyń Photography Club KLATKA, which initially operated at the Radzyń Cultural Centre (ROK), and then at the Radzyń Association of Local Initiatives (Polish: RaSIL).

Currently, the meetings and classes are held again at the Radzyń Cultural Centre[5].

Tomasz Młynarczyk serves as the club's Chairperson, organizing and conducting i.a. thematic photography workshops[6][7], "The Photo of the Month" competition[8], exhibitions[9][10][11][12], events[13], monthly meetings of its members and weekly "ROK (Polish: Radzyński Ośrodek Kultury) with photography" workshops for beginners and non-professional photographers of all ages[5].

The Association of Polish Art Photographers

Tomasz Młynarczyk is the first photographer from Radzyń Podlaski, who became the member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers (Polish: ZPAF – Związek Polskich Artystów Fotografików). In 2016 he came forth with the conceptual photography work  Tangents – the third dimension of photography (Polish: Styczne – trzeci wymiar fotografii). After presenting the collection of photographs  entitled Adam’s rib (Żebro Adama) as a complementary work, he was joined to the Association of Polish Art Photographers[14], receiving the card number 1183[4]. In the years 2017 – 2020, he served as the chairperson of the Lublin District.

Tomasz Młynarczyk is the award winner of many national and foreign contests.

In 2004, he received the award and title of ‘The Photographer of the Year 2003’ for the entire entry, which included the photographs: The Stork, The Shell, The Feathers-1, The Feathers-2, The Feathers-3, The Feathers-4, The Dragonfly and The Eclipse.

In 2014, after publishing the Józef Karłowicz’s Suitcase album together with Dominika Leszczyńska, he was awarded the title of ‘The Radzyń Bachelor 2014’. Their work was chosen as the best historical work with the scientific character.

In 2019, he became a scholar of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

In 2019, he took the second place in a local competition organised by the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin for his photograph St. Anne's Chapel (Kaplica Św. Anny)[15].

In 2021, he became a scholar of the Marshal of the Lublin Voivodeship[16].

His photos have been published in many magazines, journals, weeklies, albums and books, including the Cultural Quarterly Kozirynek [17], Kraina Bugu [18] or Grot[19][20].

In addition, he is the author and co-author of photography exhibitions - individual, collective[21] and post-outdoor. He was successful in some national and foreign post-competition exhibitions (for instance in France and Hungary).

Many of his works can be found in state collections (for example, at the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute in Warsaw, the Hieronim Łopaciński Provincial Public Library in Lublin, the State Archives in Lublin department in Radzyń Podlaski, the Municipal Library in Radzyń Podlaski) special collections (the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland) and in private collections in Poland (for example at Józef Hen's) and abroad (in Ukraine, Hungary, England, USA, France and more). Tomasz Młynarczyk has participated in over 150 collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad (Hungary, France).[22]
