History of the church

  • The Roman catholic church in Bezwola (a branch of the parish of St. Anna in Wohyń). The current wooden structure was built around 1728 by Eustachy Potocki, the later owner of Radzyń Podlaski.
  • In 1862 it was renovated, in 1875 it was taken over by the Orthodox and adapted to their needs with basic architectural forms and equipment.
  • In 1919, it was reconciled to the Roman Catholic Church, and in 1930s the Uniate paintings were repainted.
  • The reconstruction continued in 1999 and was awarded the Conservation Laurel.
  • In September 1995, the day before renovation and conservation works were found, the church burned down.

Looks

  • It consists of an almost square women's gallery (porch), a rectangular main nave and two narrow, lower aisles separated from it by pillars, and a square (straight closed) presbytery.
  • There are two small sacristies on the sides of the presbytery and a choir above the porch. The body is covered with a common roof, with a ridge on one level, and the side aisles are covered with roof slopes of the main nave extended downwards.
